| This is what I've been waiting for. This mount places the unit at the perfect height and leaves no marks on the windshield or dashboard. It holds steady and does not slide. Works as advertised!! I wish I had bought this unit long ago. Easy to hide and set up and works perfectly. If you've got a radar detector do yourself a favor and buy this unit. It's worth every penny! |

I purchased this unit when I discovered that it is illegal to have a radar detector hanging on your windshield in California. Not illegal to have the detector, mind you, just to have it mounted on your windshield.
I am totally satisfied with this unit. I am using it in a Toyota Tacoma, and it is stable under most driving conditions and does not slide around as I feared it might. It has the added advantage of not rattling, which my detector did when mounted with suction cups. I have tested it with some spirited driving on the mountain roads and have not had any problems, your mileage may vary depending on how you define spirited.
It is also a snap to move the unit if you want it out of sight, or to set on the floor if you are in a situation where you don't want/need a radar detector. ( Off road, for example)
This unit is worth the price just to get suction cups out of your life. I highly recommend it. |

| I bought this product to keep my radar detector out of the way of my sunshade and off my windshield. Not to mention it works and looks better than expected! The beanbag base is a little bulky but has enough weight to keep it from sliding during normal driving. I would suspect tho, like anything, if you are going fast enough around a corner it will slide like anything would. The beanbag base is rubber coated to give it that extra gripping power. The actual mechanism that holds the radar detector is made of heavy duty plastic and seems very sturdy. Velcro and double sided tape are included to mount the radar detector to the stand so it is your choice which one you use. The holder can also be move foward or backward on a slant to level the radar detector. So as you can see this is a quality product that seems like it will last for years. I am very impressed with it and would reccomend it to anyone who doesnt want to mount their radar detector on their windshield. |

I recently purchased this Heavyweight Beanbag dash mount,to be used with my Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector. At first I was skeptical that this mount would stay in place on the dash and wouldn't slide around. After using this product now for over four months, I can say that I am very happy with my purchase. I know that the beanbag mount sold my Escort has an adhesive on the mount where you place your detector.Unfoutunaely this means that you can't remove the detector once you secure it to the adhesive mount.This mount has a smooth surface. They stated to use velcro to hold the detector on it,but I think the velcro may block the rear laser on the detector.I have found that by wrapping a large rubberband around the detector and the plate on the beanbag,that it holds it securely and allows you to remove the detector easily.This comes in handy if you want to secure the detector in the glove box while your car is parked in public.It also allows you to use it in another vehicle easily.This beanbag mount has not so much as moved on my dash,and it does the job perfectly.Like California,my state outlaws placing your detector on your windshied,so this works perfect for that reason too. I highly recommend this product for securing your radar detector to it on your dash.I haven't used it with a GPS unit,so I can't comment on that application. I couldn't be happier with this product.
